My Must-Have Pieces

My favorite thing about the cooler temps of the fall season is getting to put together cute outfits. I just love all the fall styles and finally getting to layer pieces again. I don’t really like the winter (that’s too much layering for me), but when the sun is shining and the temps are in the 60s…it’s perfect! So today I want to share some tips for a Simple Fall Wardrobe. I have just a few must-have pieces this fall that I think anyone can use and style well.
Since I’m keeping this simple I want to share five of my must-have pieces this fall. Obviously, I wear more than these pieces, but if you have these five items you can change up your outfit in multiple ways.
- A great plaid shirt – here is a great one (I’ve also found some cute ones at my local thrift store)
- A cute, lightweight vest – Super cute one at Target
- A neutral cardigan – I love this one
- Comfortable pair of short booties – These are very similar to mine
- Nice, casual pair of sneakers – My favorites are simple black ones like these
Here are a few of my favorite ways to to style these must-haves! And thanks so much to my mom, ALB Photography Designs for the photos.
I love a simple plaid shirt unbuttoned with a cute tank underneath or, if it’s warmer outside, you can take off the plaid shirt and tie it around your waste! You can wear this casually with some sneakers or dress it up a little with your booties.
You can also switch up the plaid shirt by buttoning it up and throwing on a lightweight vest over it. This is great for weather that’s a little cooler. I love making this semi-causal by adding my booties to it. Perfect for a fall date day! Once again, the casual sneakers or the booties with a small heel work for this outfit.
I can’t go a week without my favorite cardigans. If the weather is still a little warm, I’ll wear it with a simple tank underneath. Or, if it’s getting cooler out, I’ll wear a thin long sleeve underneath. You really can’t go wrong with a neutral cardigan. Actually, you should have several. ;) I feel like you can pull a cardigan off with both casual sneakers or the booties. Whatever the occasion, it works.
My favorite part about all of these outfits is that they can go from day to night just by switching up your shoes and jewelry. Easy and simple. Just what I like.
And just for fun, I thought I’d share one of our family photos from this fall photo shoot. Isn’t my little family so cute?
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Simple Fall Wardrobe ideas. These must-have items will make your fall wardrobe styling so much easier! Thanks again to ALB Photography Designs for all of the beautiful pictures!
