Welcome to Southern Breeze Collection’s internet debut! I’m so excited to finally launch what I’ve been teasing everyone with for months. This was a very long process considering I’m a perfectionist and wanted everything to be the best I could get it for the launch! I’m going to tell a little bit about my journey to this very moment so, sit back, relax, grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy!
For as long as I can remember I’ve always had a knack for creativity (thanks to the genes passed down from my very talented mom). I’ve always helped my mom refinish furniture, paint new projects, decorate her house for all the seasons, try new recipes, etc. I love creating and designing and wanted an outlet for all the thoughts, dreams, ideas, and designs I have floating around in my head :) I also have my marketing degree so the dream to run my own creative business one day is just a dream on the horizon for Southern Breeze Collections!
So where did all this begin & why did it take so long to happen?
This was a much bigger deal to me than just setting up a simple little site and starting to write. I’ve been working for months on growing my relationships with other bloggers through social media and shifting my social media to represent what my new blog will be. Not only have I been working on the content part but also the design. I spent weeks on the branding coming up with a name, color palette, logo design, and other inspiration pieces. I did my own logo design (first logo design ever…yay me :) through the help of online tutorials and hours upon hours of work. I hope you like it!
I do have to give a shoutout to a great graphic designer friend, John Packer, who was the only one (besides my husband and my mom) that I let see my logo before today. I wanted his professional opinion and I was TERRIFIED to show him. Of course, he was very kind and positive about my work…he made a couple tweaks, (which I loved because I had someone else ~who does this for a living~ putting his own spin on my work) and there it was; the final version shown above. Thanks again for your help John…you will forever have your hand in the work of Southern Breeze Collections and I’m so very grateful! Visit his website to see some of his awesome work!
This blog will be a collection of my life, DIY projects, the constant interior design & decorating of our first home, the recipes I enjoy, and all sorts of other things! I’m excited to get started on this journey and all the things that lie ahead. I believe this is only the beginning for my new brand and I hope that you will join me for the ride. I appreciate your support because if you’re reading this you’re already supporting me and it means the world! I look forward to getting to know YOU, my readers, more, and I’d love for you to pop in and say hello!
For now, feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think about the new site and what things you would love to see from me on the blog. If you want to know when I post a new project, recipe, or other surprises be sure to subscribe to the newsletter!
Stay tuned for my first DIY project post first thing tomorrow once the “blog launch contest” winner is chosen!
